My bed in the garden beside the house. The yellow tank is a reservoir for water.

My bike in the garage, a Honda 70, makes a lot of noise because the exhaust doesn't work. Almost everybody in the Dominican Republic is driving on it, like the bicycle in Holland.

The pump of the house pumps the water from a reservoir under the ground behind the wall to the house. This they call the "cisterna". But when the power fails....you have to to keep some tanks with water, like the yellow one on the first photo!

Here you see the watersupply. Here the water arrives when the corporation puts on the pump, sometimes just after three days! Also the reservoir will be filled, but not many houses have one. You always have to be alert.
